MachuPicchu News: The DDC (Cusco Decentralized Management) and Ministry of Culture have launched the new official site to get Machu Picchu tickets for 2024 and 2025.
The new site, replacing the previous site www.machupicchu.gob.pe, is www.tuboleto.cultura.pe. Joinnus has ended its contract and stopped selling tickets as of July 31, 2024.
The new ticket booking system became operational on August 1, 2024. All authorized tour operators and travel agencies have been trained to use this new official site. It was also announced that tickets for the Inca Trail 2025 will be available starting mid-October. It’s recommended to book in advance, as April, May, June, and July are high tourist seasons, and tickets usually sell out months in advance.
The www.tuboleto.cultura.pe site will exclusively sell Machu Picchu tickets and tickets for other circuits in Cusco. Tickets for other attractions offered by Joinnus, such as Kuelap and Peruvian museums, will continue to be available on the Joinnus site.
The Ministry of Culture has posted on social media:
“The Ministry of Culture began training operators and tourism agencies on the new Platform for the Management of Visits to Cultural Centers, developed by the cultural entity in conjunction with the Secretariat of Government and Digital Transformation (SGTD) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), as the governing body of the National Digital Transformation System.
The technical team of the Ministry of Culture presented the characteristics and advantages of the ‘Agencies and Reservations‘ module, which is part of the modules that make up the new platform, in sessions held at the facilities of the Casa de la Cultura de la Casa San Bernardo in Cusco. The attendees expressed their opinions and questions, which were answered by the technical team regarding the operation of the sales modules for the llaqta Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail, as well as the control modules, processes and payment gateways, reservations, and cancellations.
Training sessions will continue to take place on July 24 and 25 at the same cultural center, in different groups and at times ranging from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., in order to serve and receive all agencies and operators registered on the current platform.”
Why not use gob.pe?
The Peruvian government uses the url gob.pe for official state websites. No private company can use the gob.pe url. The Ministry of Culture is now using the .pe domain, with www.tuboleto.cultura.pe being promoted in 2024 by the Ministry of Culture’s.
